Benkichi Ohno, a scientist of the Edo period, was born in Kyoto.
At the age of 20, he learned Chemistry, Medical science, Astronomy, study for Almanac, Photography, and Navigation.
Then he married and lived permanently in Ohno, Kanazawa.
He made full use advanced science of those days and created many objects using techniques as Wood carving, Glass, Coating, Gold lacquer, etc.
People were mostly impressed with his Karakuri dolls (dolls with hidden mechanisms).

15:45~17:00 Ninja-temple( Myoryuji Temple)

Myoryuji-temple, which was originally in the vicinity of Kanazawa Castle, was reconstructed at this place by Toshitsune Maeda. He was the Third feudal lord of Kanazawa.
Because this temple has hidden rooms, concealment stairs, to defend against attacks, it is commonly called the Ninja Temple.

Higashi-Chaya was a very successful entertainment district in which high status clients came to see Geiko girls dance, sing or play the Biwa or the Koto (traditional Japanese instruments).
It was created under the Kaga administration (1820).
Another entertainment district, Nishi-Chaya, is situated near the Saigawa river, on the other side of the city.
