Symposium 5: Data/Text Mining from Large Databases

Aims and Scope:

The need for analysis of large collections of data and text is growing from year to year; that is why text/data mining has received considerable attention from both research and application. The symposium aims to provide an international forum for researchers and practitioners to share their new ideas, original research results and practical development experiences in data and text mining. The symposium includes various data/text mining related topics (but not limited to)

  • Data mining and machine learning algorithms and systems
  • Knowledge acquisition and automatic scientific discovery
  • Text and Web mining techniques and applications
  • Information extraction and information retrieval
  • Scientific knowledge creation by data/text mining
  • Challenges and roles of data/text mining in systems science
