  Phased Learning from Basics to Application

  JAIST offers phased learning curricula from the "Introductory Courses" for students whose academic background is different from their major to acquire basic knowledge, to "Basic Courses", "Technical Courses" and finally to "Advanced Courses" taught in English. Progress into a higher phase is decided strictly based on the level of academic achievement. In addition, in order to equip students with excellent international communication ability, JAIST provides in-depth English language education.

  Multifaceted Research Activities through Minor and Major Research Projects

  In addition to a Major Research Project (for Master's Thesis or Project Report / Doctoral Dissertation) in the major field, students must take a Minor Research Project to acquire knowledge in relevant fields. These multifaceted research activities enable students to conduct research with a broader viewpoint and develop adaptive and applied skills to prepare for various challenges.
