1. Eligibility Requirement
Those who hold a bachelor’s degree or those who have academic abilities equal to bachelor’s degree.

2. Application Documents

(1) Application for Admission and Resume

(2) Certificate of the bachelor’s degree

(3) Copy of Alien Registration Certificate (Only international students living in Japan)

(4) Statement of Source of Funds (Only international students living abroad)

(5) Application form for JAIST dormitory, if you would like to live in.

(Note) Use original form of JAIST for (1), (4), (5)

3. Application Fee
Application fee (9,800 JPY) must be paid when you submit the application documents.

4. Application Deadline
At least three months before you intend to enroll in.

5. Research Period
Research period is within one year. (If you apply for School of Information Science, the period should be within half a year.) An extension may be granted if an application is made for research period extension for special reasons. (Up to 6 months in case of a student of School of Information Science)

6. Result Notification
Result will be sent to you around the middle of the following month after the application deadline.

7. Entrance Fee and Tuition

(1) Entrance Fee: 84,600 yen
Successful applicants must pay entrance fee at the time of admission.

(2) Tuition (monthly amount): 29,700 yen

8. Other

(1) Application and entrance fees once paid are not refundable for any reason.

(2) Research students must observe rules and regulations of JAIST.

(3) Research students must submit the research report describing the summary of their research after completion of their research period.

(4) JAIST can issue the certificate of research describing the theme and period of research, if necessary.
