*** To Komatsu (or Kanazawa) ***

Narita airport --(1h30m, Limousine bus)--> Haneda airport ==(1h, Flight)==> Komatsu airport

(If you want to go to Kanazawa, please use a bus from Komatsu airport to Kanazawa station (about 1,200 yen). You can get off at the central of Kanazawa, Korinbo and Katamachi, and Kanazawa station.)

*** From Komatsu to JAIST ****

There is no direct public transportation from Komatsu. We organize free bus service between Komatsu (airport and station) and Ishikawa High-Tech Conference Center. For example, the following buses are available on September 17.
Komatsu station -> Komatsu airport -> High-Tech Conference Center
10:50 -> 11:10 -> 11:50

Komatsu station -> High-Tech Conference Center
11:50 -> 12:20

Otherwise, please take a taxi from Komatsu station or from Komatsu airport. It takes about 30 minutes from Komatsu station and 40 minutes from Komatsu airport. The charge is 6,000-7,000 yen for one way. If the driver doesn't understand the English abbreviation JAIST, please try "Hokuriku sentan daigaku." For short, JAIST is often called in that way in Japanese.

A way not recommended: If you cannot use the free bus service, the following roundabout route may offer you an inexpensive ride. However, please let me remind you that it takes at least 2 hours and very complicated. It is not recommended.

From Komatsu station (There is a bus between Komatsu airport and Komatsu station), take a train of JR Hokuriku line till Nishi Kanazawa station (one station before Kanazawa).

Komatsu station ++(JR Hokuriku Line)++> Nishi Kanazawa station

Then exchange into a local line: Hokuriku Railway, Ishikawa line. Shin Nishi Kanazawa station of Hokuriku Railway is just in front of JR Nishi Kanazawa station.

Shin Nishi Kanazawa station ++(Hokuriku Railway, Ishikawa Line)++> Tsurugi station

A free JAIST shuttle bus goes between Tsurugi station and JAIST every one hour. If you take a taxi, it costs about 1,500 yen from Tsurugi station to JAIST.

*** From Komatsu to Kanazawa Kokusai Hotel ****

Please get on the bus from Komatsu airport to Kanazawa station (about 1,200 yen) and get off at Katamachi. Then take a taxi to Kanazawa Kokusai Hotel (about 2,000 yen).

It costs about 8,000 yen by taxi from Komatsu airport to the hotel.

*** Supplementary info. ***

There is highway express bus service from Tokyo, Osaka and other cities to Kanazawa. It takes 7 or 8 hours from Tokyo and 4 hours from Osaka. The price is very cheap compared with the price of train and flight. But it may be difficult to find this service. Therefore, we describe it just as supplementary information.

*** From Kanazawa to JAIST ***

From Kanazawa station, if you wants to go to JAIST, please take JR Hokuriku line to go to Nishi Kanazawa station. Then please use Hokuriku Railway Ishikawa line from Shin Nishi Kanazawa station to Tsurugi station as described above (described in "A way not recommended" of ***from Komatsu to JAIST*** ).

From the central of Kanazawa, Korinbo or Katamachi, Nomachi station is the nearest station of Hokuriku Railway.

There is a bus from Korinbo, the central of Kanazawa, to JAIST early in the morning. A bus returns in the evening.

By taxi it takes about 40 minutes and costs 6,000-7,000 yen.

*** From Kanazawa to Kanazawa Kokusai Hotel ***

It takes about 30 minutes by taxi from Kanazawa station to the hotel.

There is free shuttle bus service of the hotel from the Kanazawa station. Departure time of the hotel bus is 14:00, 15:20, 16:40, and 18:40. The color of the bus is pink and it departs from the bus booth for pick-up buses at the bus terminal of Kanazawa station. The bus drops at Katamachi. If you want to get on there, please ask the hotel where it stops.

A city bus with bus number 30 to the direction Hikarigaoka will bring you to the nearest bus top Takao Minami Ichi-choume. The hotel is in few minutes walk from there. The bus departs from the bus booth number 8 at the bus terminal of Kanazawa station.
