Abstract:
Metal-Organic Frameworks (MOFs) are hybrid porous materials composing of metal ions and organic linkers. The growth of MOFs thin film on surface has been recently progressed with high challenging to control the molecular arrangement1.

In this research, the organized multilayer MOFs thin film has been successfully prepared on the silane-modified surface substrate using layer-by-layer (LbL) fabrication technique through the cobalt ion and porphyrin building unit under room temperature. The various characterization techniques were performed by UV-Vis, XRR, GISAXS, AFM, FT-IR and XPS.

The stepwise growth of multilayer film was investigated by UV-Vis. The XRR results showed the linear thickness dependence with growth layer. The GISAXS indicated the periodic structure in both in-plane (IP) and out-of-plane (OP) directions as displayed in Figure 1. The homogeneous morphology with smooth surface and dense packing was exhibited by AFM. These results pointed out that the well arrangement of porphyrin-based MOFs on surface can be efficiently obtained by the LbL approach.
