SI is a intelligent collective behavior which may be able to solve cognitive problems that is difficult to solve for an individual. Because SI is a kind of buzz word, more quantitative and theoretical researches about SI is needed. In this paper, authors introduce a general definition of SI and try to establish clear criteria for SI. I would like to discuss about possibility of mathematical research of SI.
