November 5 or 6, 2007, Grand Prince Hotel Hiroshima, Hiroshima, Japan

Open source software and standardization are inevitable factor for the today’s tremendous growth of ICT field. There exist numerous open standards composing the Internet and various open source software such as Linux and Apache. They are inseparable to each other since open source software implements open standards and proves their technical feasibility and adequacy, while open standards provide clear interface through which open source software can be integrated with other various software systems. Open source software and open standards does not only mean the research and development of new technology, but they can be regarded as a novel mechanism of technology innovation and promotion in which a fundamental for competition and collaboration is embedded.
