Research Interests

Sean’s current research is in structural optimisation and digital manufacturing technology, and developing computational methods for dealing with complex systems in architecture. The main body of investigation over the past four years has been the application of machine learning and optimisation techniques in the design of architecture, focusing specifically on two example problems: structural space frames and the layout of spaces for given social networks.
