There is a full range of restaurants in the area around JAIST that offer a wonderful selection of meals at prices that make eating out an affordable treat and Japanese-style pubs that are great places to get together with your friends.

The first thing you need to do when you start your new life is to pick up what you'll need for everyday life. There are many stores in the area around JAIST, from large-sized shopping malls that carry everything you want or need to discount stores that offer a wide range of products at reasonable prices, all within a 30-minute drive. After you pick up your daily essentials, you can explore the area for shops that handle items you can use for your hobbies.
Recreation
You'll need to take some time off to relax
and refresh.
If you feel like taking a little trip, there are many famous hot springs, including Yamanaka and Yamashiro, where you can relax and let your stress melt away. Swimming pools, ski resorts, and the ocean are close by for a bit of healthy exercise all through the year. There are also many other fun destinations, including a zoo and some great amusement spots.
