Informal laboratory assignment prior to enrollment
We allow students who have passed the entrance examination for the School of Materials Science to select their laboratory assignment prior to enrollment. Those who would wish to take advantage of this system can do so by following the procedures listed below.
(1) Students send notification of the
laboratories they would like to visit to the Office of Administration, School
of Materials Science.

We allow a maximum of three laboratory
visits per student.
(2) Teachers from the laboratories that
students would like to visit contact the students to arrange a time and date
for visits.
(3) Students visit laboratories.
During the two-month period after the
announcement of entrance examination results.
(4) Students and teachers agree on
laboratory assignments.
(5) Students submit a report concerning the laboratory they wish to join to the Office
of Administration. (E-mail is acceptable.)
Laboratory teachers submit adviser's informal consent forms to the
Dean of the School of Materials Science.
(6) Students receive notification of
informal laboratory assignment.
Students are also allowed to determine laboratory
assignments after enrollment.
April – May: Laboratory orientation, laboratory
open house
June: Evaluation of laboratory assignments,
Determination of laboratory assignments
If students who are already informally
assigned to laboratories before enrollment have a desire to change, they can participate
in this evaluation.
