■Research Interests
Development of Metal Nanoparticles with Controlled Structure and Arrangement as High Performance Catalysts We have developing preparation methods of metal nanoparticles with precisely controlled size, shape, and/or arrangements by using nanotechnologies. These controlled metal clusters are applied as designed catalytic materials with high performance for carbon nanotube synthesis, fuel cell, so on. Development of Metal Nanoparticle Devices by the Aid of Organic Protective Agents with Novel Functionalities We have been developing new compsite devices consisting of organic protective agenst with highly functionalities (eg., liquid crystal and chromic organic materials) and metal clusters with precisely controlled shape and arrangements; especially, we foust on constraction of highly anisotropic structures such as singlecrystalline nanowires and 1D arrangements. Furthermore, we are developing devices operated by the application of electric field and UV-light. Structural Analyses of Very Complex Mixtures or Trace Contaminates by Using FT-ICR Mass Spectrometry FT-ICR MS has very high resolution power and sensitivity. We applied this instrument to chemical structural analyses of constituents of heavy oil and pollution materials without any preseparation procedures and/or with high selectivity and sensitivity.
