Study of Intelligence C
Summary of Lecture 8 on 3rd July, 2002, by Fujinami

A. Participants	We had 13 participants with one TA for this 8th lecture.

B. We have done the followings at the seventh lecture:
1. Opening (20 min.)
2. Warming up and stretching by Shun (20 min.)
3. Reading the Varela interview (50 min.) Presenters were Osawa-san and Juha.

Part-I: Lecture 1, 2, and 3 comprise an introduction to `Body and Mind’ problem.
Part-II: Lecture 4, 5, and 6 helped us to get an access to our own experiences.
Part-III: Lecture 7 provided us with a material to think of ‘shared cognition’, 
which will be a key to investigate what Self is. 
We studied the theoretical backgrounds of all the materials given in this class 
so far by reading the interview to Varela. The session concludes Part-III, 
where we learnt basic notions of phenomenology.

Evaluation: Most participants agreed on evaluating our performance based on the final report. 
I propose thus to put 70% of weights on the report and the rest of 30% will be given 
based your contribution to our class. Participants who will not present anything in this class 
are strongly recommended to submit some survey or report. 
Your performance will otherwise be rated low. (発表しない人は何かレポートを提出してね)
