my way back

Everything has been finished. I got back to Japan, but spend a few hours in London, mostly in the British Museum. I cannot miss it whenever I am in the city. I will never be bored with their exhibitions.

my mate was robbed by a pair of suspicious buys just outside the museum

We somehow spotted the station, but we were only informed of a website to report the crime

a model of temples around Olympos in ancient time

I usually skip vases, but found them interesting this time. the illustrations are of modern style

numerous vases stopped me from going, but I did not have time to go through all of them as I had to leave there soon

The city was already in Olympic mood

I ordered a plate of sea foods at the counter in the airport to conclude my visit to U.K. and was happily surprised by the cut lemon wrapped in a cloth. It is a beautiful and nice way to add a cut lemon to the plate.

in Cambridge

I had time in the morning and wondered around the town. It was a good exercise. I saw a colleague in the afternoon to discuss issues in which all of us were interested.

a round church in the centre. probably a trace of Roma occupation

a dragon whose eye is made of a china, found in Museum of Archeology and Anthropology

cockroaches exhibited in the museum of zoology

an illustration brought in during our discussion

a model in the showcase of a tea room. It is rare to find the sort of thing in U.K. It might have been made in Japan.

I bought several music scores at the shop

to cambridge

My final destination is Cambridge. I moved from Oxford to Cambridge, which took more than five hours in total. Anyway, our visit to a laboratory was fruitful, where we discussed how genome science can be applied to tacking the issue of dementia. I like the idea of prevention, rather than looking after people in need, but realized lots to be discussed and decided before we embark on a project.

We climbed up the mound, a trace of Roman fortress

it was fairly steep

a view from on the top of the mound

another view. I remembered a hill behind our home when we lived in Edinburgh

a black bird in the garden. its twittering reminded me of my days in the north

a day in countryside, cotswolds

I asked them to take me to countryside. We decided to go walking around little tew, a small village, a bit away from their home. The village was lovely and the footpath was full of interest. We walked along the path, having eaten our lunch under trees to avoid to be wet (it was raining a bit). The wether is recovering as we approached to the goal.

We left the village, heading for the field

poppies are of full blossoms

It became fine after lunch, but soon it rained and soon it became fine and ...

it was quiet and calm

going through green is a relaxing experience

we took photo of each other
