武満徹・音楽創造への旅（立花 隆 著）を読み終えた。一月ほど前になる4月5日の夜、武満徹の夢を見た。彼には二人の連れがあり、我々は森の中を散策していた。少し開けたところに出たので腰を下ろし、会話した。自分は武満先生を尊敬しているのですと言い、そうだったのかと自分で驚いた。武満徹は微笑んだ。それから二人で音楽とは関係ない話をした。翌朝起きてテレビをつけたら鈴木優人さんが「雨の樹・素描」を弾きながら解説していた。そういうことがあったので武満徹について深く知りたいと思い、立花 隆氏の著作を買い求めた。余白も節約しての780ページはかなりの大著だが、この連休を利用して読み終えた。10代の頃、「地平線のドーリア」を録音して聞き返していたものだが、そこに至る過程については何も知らなかったので、理解が深まってよかった。
I met Toru Takemitsu in a dream a while ago. We walked into a forest and sat down on ground in a open space for a chat. I told him that I respected him, which supervised myself as I had forgot him for long time. He smiled at me and we talked about things not directly related to music. I turned on TV next morning to watch coincidentally a program about Rain Tree, one of his pieces. I had to know him in depth, I noticed. I found a book written about him by a journalist. It is rather thick volume, say, consisting of more than 780 pages. I spent weeks to read it. I remembered The Dorian Horizon was one of my favorites when I was about sixteen. I learnt how he was led to the music by reading it.
