Short Bio

I did my bachelor and master study at Department of Systems Science, the University of Tokyo, Japan, where I got my Bachelor and Master degrees (both in Systems Science) in 1999 and 2001, respectively under the supervison of Prof. Masataka Nakamura. In October 2001, I joined the pre-doc program of Berlin/Zurich Joint Graduate Program "Combinatorics, Geometry, and Computation" in ETH Zurich, Switzerland, and in April 2002 I started my PhD study at Research group of Prof. Emo Welzl in Institute of Theoretical Computer Science, Department of Computer Science, ETH Zurich, and got my PhD in 2005. In April 2005, I moved to Department of Information and Computer Sciences, Toyohashi University of Technology, Japan as a research assistant and joined Discrete Optimization Laboratory (led by Prof. Toshihiro Fujito). I was promoted to an assistant professor in April 2007 there. In December 2007, I moved to Graduate School of Information Science and Engineering, Tokyo Institute of Technology as an associate professor, supported by Global COE Program "CompView: Computationism as a Foundation for the Sciences" financed by Japan Society for the Promotion of Science. Since October 2010, I have been at Center for Graduate Education Initiative, Japan Advanced Institute of Science and Technology.
