In order to do a PhD at JAIST, you will either need to have a
relevant Masters degree or you should have an exceptional(!)
undergraduate degree. Should you desire to do a PhD with me, I
will usually insist that either i) I know you personally, ii)
you are recommended to me by someone I know, or iii) you have
published something I find interesting. Please understand that
a PhD is an advanced degree that should not be entered into
lightly. Doing a PhD requires close contact between the student
and supervisor, and my requirements are intended to protect
everybody's interests, including those of the prospective
