On-campus infection prevention measures against the COVID-19

June 2022

・Held the Degree Conferment Ceremony in a format that avoided the “Three Cs”, including reducing the number of attendees.

・As part of the Workplace Vaccination Program, students, faculty, staff, and family members living in student and faculty housing who wished to receive the COVID-19 vaccine were vaccinated at Kanazawa University. (Approximately 150 people were vaccinated.)

・Held the Degree Conferment Ceremony by thoroughly implementing measures against the COVID-19 such as checking body temperature, limiting the number of passengers on the shuttle bus, preventing droplet infection at reception, and shortening of the ceremony time.

December 2021

・In order to prevent the spread of multiple infections on campus, offered flu vaccinations at a lower cost than usual (1,000 yen for students, 2,000 yen for faculty and staff), using the gymnasium to thoroughly implement preventive measures against COVID-19 including avoiding the "Three C's".

・In order to detect infected person early and prevent spread of COVID-19, conducted a PCR test for students living in the student housing. (All tested negative)

・Installed humidifier with air purifying function for proper humidity control at the Tokyo Satellite.

・Applied antibacterial coating to all JAIST shuttles (6 buses), all lecture rooms, all elevators, cafeteria, health care center, windbreak rooms in student housings, etc. on the Ishikawa Campus.

December 2020

・Inspected and adjusted the air conditioning equipment (adjustment of energy recovery ventilation, filter replacement, direction of air outlet, etc.) for proper ventilation in buildings where experiments are conducted on the Ishikawa campus.

・Replaced the filters of the air conditioning equipment and adjusted the air outlets for proper ventilation at the Tokyo Satellite.

November 2020

・Used gymnasium to conduct a physical examination for students enrolled in October to thoroughly implement measures against the COVID-19 such as avoiding the “Three Cs”.

・Conducted influenza vaccination to prevent the spread of multiple infectious diseases on campus at a lower price than usual (1,000 yen for students and 2,000 yen for faculty and staff) at gymnasium while thoroughly implementing measures against the COVID-19 such as avoiding the “Three Cs”.

・Increased the number of rooms for students, faculty or staff members who are waiting for PCR/antigen test result to 9 on Ishikawa campus.

・Prepared 4 rooms for students, faculty or staff members who are waiting for PCR/antigen test result, and 6 rooms for those who received positive PCR/antigen test result and waiting to be transferred to a medical institution.

・Distributed 10 masks each to all students who wished to receive masks, donated by universities with academic exchange agreements.

・Arranged vehicle for transferring students, faculty or staff members who are suspected of being infected with the COVID-19 to medical institution.(Ongoing)

・Reduced the number of passenger capacity on the JAIST Shuttle (bus) to half. (Ongoing)

・Installed hand sanitizer at the entrances and exits of the school building and student housing, also installed disinfectant wipe in the common area of the student housing. (Ongoing)

・Installed queue ticket machine to avoid the “Three Cs”, and plastic sheet to prevent COVID-19 droplet infection at the Educational and Student Affairs Division. (Ongoing)
