【All new students】

◇Cancellation of Entrance Ceremony
 The Entrance Ceremony scheduled on Monday, October 4 has been canceled.
 Video messages from the President will be live-streamed at 9:30-9:50, October 6.
 We ask for your understanding that we decided to ensure your health and safety from the point of infectious disease prevention.

【Students at Ishikawa Campus】

◇Orientation
 Face-to-face guidance is canceled and the orientation will be carried out by watching live streaming, videos, or viewing the materials.
 Please access the following URL to watch a video or view the materials.

 Please take the orientation on your own at home. If you do not have the good internet access, you can use the following places and time after thorough countermeasures against COVID 19 infection;

1 JAIST Information Environment
 Account/password and Surface (only for applicant) that required for online will be given after checking your student ID card on the designated date of October 4(Mon) .Designated date will be informed by email.
 When you borrow Surface, you need to submit "Exchange Ticket" which was given with your student ID card at the reception of the orientation.
 Please fill in the required field in advance.

◇Access to the laboratory etc.
 Please check the Temporary Assignment Table in Guidance Materials about your laboratory. To take the countermeasures against COVID 19 infection, You should avoid accessing the laboratory, Library, J-BEANS, Gymnasium and Training Room until the day before the classes start(October 11). Please contact your supervisor by email. This is not applicable for those who have been on campus as master's students.

◇Courses of Term 2-1
 Courses of term 2-1 start from October 12 (Tue.). JAIST conducts lectures in different styles of Face-to-Face, Online and Hyflex which is a choice of face-to-face or online. Depending on the lecture, face-to-face lectures or online lectures etc will be arranged. After enrollment, please confirm the lecture type on LMS. For LMS, please refer to the email sent at a later date.
 Online classes will be held during the course registration period (until October 25) to avoid three Cs.

◇Physical Checkup
 The physical checkup for students will be held at the gymnasium in November 5, 2021. For more information, please be sure to check the email sent at a later date.

【IMPORTANT NOTICE】

Fill in "Travel History, Body Temperature & Symptoms Recording Sheet"

【All new students】

 In order to prevent spread of infection of coronavirus/COVID-19, you should take care of your health and also take intensive measures to protect yourself from infection in a daily life.
 All new students should take a body temperature every day from September 17 and fill in "Travel History, Body Temperature & Symptoms Recording Sheet” (hereinafter referred to as ”Recording Sheet”).

We will ask you to submit the "Recording Sheet" as needed, so please be sure to keep it at all times.
※We will check the "Recording Sheet" when handing the student ID card. (For Ishikawa campus students)

 If you have symptoms such as fever or coughing before arriving at JAIST, please contact the nearest medical institution and follow the instruction. If you have symptoms such as trouble breathing, strong lethargy, or high fever OR continuing light cold symptoms such as fever or cough for 4 days or longer, please call your primary care doctor or the Ishikawa Prefecture Consulting Center for the Fever Patients for consultation and follow the instructions.

Until classes start, you should take intensive measures to protect yourself from infection such as washing your hands with soap frequently, gargling, and observing "coughing manners" such as wearing mask, coughing or sneezing into your sleeves. Also, you should avoid unnecessary, urgent outings【※】, and please do not go to a place where people gather for long time.

 Students on Ishikawa Campus can use the following places and time after thorough countermeasures against COVID 19 infection;
   Cafeteria: 11:00 to 20:00 Weekdays
   New Yamazaki Daily Store: 8:00 to 20:00 Weekdays, 9:30 to 17:00 Weekends and Holidays
   Gymnasium: 9:00 to 21:00 (Reservation required. Please refer this for more information.)
   Training Room: 5:00 to 25:00
* New students will be able to use the Gymnasium and the Training Room from Tuesday, October 12.

【Students at Ishikawa Campus】

・Student ID Card
 Student ID card will be given along with account, password and Surface on the designated date of October 4, Monday. JAIST Student Housing residents will be able to get the card during the moving-in procedure at the counter from September 30.

*New students cannot use JAIST regular shuttle buses in September, 2021,except for those who take the procedures for moving into the JAISTStudent Housing on September 30.
Please use NOMI BUS, public buses, to reach from TSURUGI and JR NOMINEAGARI Station to JAIST in September.

・JAIST Shuttle [Tsurugi line]
 When you use JAIST Shuttle [Tsurugi line], you have to show your student ID to a driver. No reservation necessary. New students without student ID cards should follow the procedures to ride on the shuttle bus. Please email the recording sheet to the Student Welfare Section at gakusei@ml.jaist.ac.jp two days beforehand to get the confirmation. You will receive the sheet returned with confirmation seal, then you may show it to the shuttle bus driver for the ride.

・JAIST Shuttle [Komatsu line]
 When you use JAIST Shuttle [Komatsu Line], you have to make a reservation on JAIST Shuttle Demand System. For the usage, please show your student ID card in the same manner as JAIST Shuttle [Tsurugi Line] usage.
