Prof. Tadashi Matsumoto has been notified by the IEEE of his status elevation in IEEE to the Fellow grade , effective, as of January 1, 2010.
Prof. Tadashi Matsumoto of School of Information Science, Japan Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (JAIST), has been notified by the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) of his status elevation in IEEE to the Fellow grade, effective, as of January 1, 2010. His Fellowship is in recognition of his contributions to signal processing in wireless communications. To become IEEE Fellow, candidates have to be nominated, not applied by him/herself, by a nominator having a Fellowship, and also recommended by more than 5 references, all having to hold Fellowship. Through a very strict and thorough scrutiny, new Fellows are selected. According to the IEEE bylaw, less than 0.1% of the total members can be recognized as new Fellows.
