JAIST International School 2013 on "Cat-CVD (Hot Wire CVD) and Related Technologies ― Fundamentals and Applications to Solar Cells and Other Devices―" was held on March 4-7, 2013 at Kanazawa city and JAIST campus.
Cat-CVD is a new thin film technology to prepare thin films by using catalytic chemical reaction of source gases with heated catalyzers. The technology is originally developed at JAIST, and recently at many research groups around the world. By the technology or modified related technologies, both inorganic and organic polymer films with excellent quality are successfully prepared at low substrate temperatures. The technology is now industrially implemented for fabrication of various advanced electronic devices and solar cells, and is still developing for even wider applications.
This school aimed at discussing on the future of this promising technology by gathering many talented young researchers in the world, since the formation of human network of young people is the most effective way for continuous further development of research of the technology.
Nine lectures, well-known leading researchers in this field, are selected, and students or young researchers from 12 countries such as U.K., the Netherlands, Germany, France, Russia, Korea, China, Taiwan, Australia, USA, Mexico and Japan, are collected after checking their activity and future feasibility. We believe that we could provide a good opportunity for young promising students or researchers to deepen their understanding of this field, and to exchange their worldwide comradeship.
