Title:   Language evolution as a metaphor in silico 
	 -- what is required to be called a model of "language evolution"?

Abstract:

In this lecture, we will consider the meaning of "scientific proof" in
computer simulation by looking through the discussion about necessary
components of language evolution in simulations. For this purpose, I
will use the model developed in Yamauchi (2004). In the later part,
this discussion will also touch topics such as "C. H. Peirce's
abduction and Computer simulation" and "Evolution as historic events
and Consistency over Contingency".
