10th Kawakita Festival
音と光の響宴「第10回川北まつり」
Every year at this time the Kawakita Festival is held on the
banks of the Tedori river in Kawakita. A torchlight
procession arrives at the ground, heralded by the beat of
the Tedori Koryu taiko group. The torches are then used to
light a 45m tall beacon, at which point the taiko
performance reaches a climax. At the same time the biggest
firework display in Ishikawa is held. Please enjoy this
summer evening son et lumiere concert.

毎年この時期、川北町の手取川河原で、「川北まつり」が開催され
る。
祭りは手取こう龍太鼓(てどりこうりゅうだいこ)が打ち鳴らされ
る中、松明(たいまつ)が次々に会場に到着し、高さ45メートルの大
かがり火に点火、太鼓の響宴が繰り広げられる。同時に県内最大の
花火大会も開催される。夏の夜、音と光の響宴を楽しんで下さい。

" Santos " - Komatsu Interchange branch -

The recently opened " Santos " Komatsu Interchange Branch
restaurant is a sister restaurant of the famous " Santos "
Japanese restaurant chain.. The menu centres on sushi, but
fixed set meals, noodles and donburi dishes are also
available. The interior of the restaurant is laid out with a
sushi counter and group seating and you can see the sushi
being prepared in front of you on the sushi counter. In
addition you can order whatever you want in terms of tempura
or sashimi etc. To this extent " Santos " is just like any
normal sushi restaurant. 2 pieces of hand-pressed start as
low as ￥90, rising up to ￥540 according to ingredients. In
addition there are a range of sushi sets at ￥800 and ￥1200
respectively. It's definitely a restaurant worth visiting at
least once. The restaurant is situated on the right hand
corner of the crossroads between the road leading to the
Hokuriku expressway Komatsu interchange and the road which
runs over the bridge from Jusco.
Opening times : 11.30-3.00pm, 5.00-10.00pm. Closed on Mondays.

先ごろオープンした「サントス小松インター店」は、和食レスト
ランとして有名な「サントス」の姉妹店。生きのいい寿司を中心に、
定食、麺類、丼物を取りそろえたレストランである。
店内は寿司カウンター、ボックス席があり、寿司カウンターでは
目の前で寿司を握ってくれるし、天ぷら、お造り、その他が自由に
注文できるなど、普通の寿司屋と全く変わらない。握り寿司は２個
入90円、180円、270円・・540円。盛り合わせ800円、ちらし寿司
800円、おまかせ定食は8品で1,200円と、実に安く、一度は行って
見る価値があるレストラン。
ここは北陸自動車道小松インターチェンジ前の道路と、ジャスコ
小松店からの陸橋道路が交わる交差点の西側にある。営業時間は午
前11時30分から午後3時と、午後5時から10時。定休日は毎週月曜日。

Izumino Public Library opened

Izumino Public Library opened in April and has a large
selection of foreign books and magazines. The collection of
translated Japanese works is especially good. There are
also CDs and movies with listening and viewing facilities
housed in the library.
Hours Mon-Fri 10:00-7:00, Sat/Sun 10:00-5:00

この4月、泉野図書館が開館した。数多くの外国の本、雑誌が取
りそろえられ、特に日本文学の翻訳が多くある。またここにはCDや
ビデオを見ることができる設備も整っている。
