Taiko Concert in Matto - Ichikoku-ichikyosai '95

壱刻壱響祭'95(いちこくいちきょうさい)

• Date and Time: July 23rd (Sun) 19:30- (rain or shine)
• Admission: 2,500 yen advanced; 3,000 yen at the door.

毎年この時期に行なわれる和太鼓の響演。今年のテーマは「祭」。
実行委員会では、祭の本質そのものをよみがえらせるような、魔の魅惑と歓喜に満ちた時間をつくり出したいと願っている。この趣旨に賛同する優れた和太鼓奏者が、この日この地に多数集まる。

Abare Matsuri
あばれ祭り
Udetsu, Noto-machi 能登町宇出津
A lively festival involving over 50 tall lanterns paraded around a bonfire into which a mikoshi portable shrine) is thrown.

National Jet Ski Competition
ジェットスキー大会
Chirihama Beach, Hakui 羽咋市千里浜海岸
Competitors from all over the national gather for this competition and demonstrate their skill in compet ition.

Matsunami Ningyo Matsuri
松波人形祭り
Matsunami-machi Uchiura-machi, Suzu 珠洲市内浦町松波町
Kiriko decorated with figurines are paraded through the town. Young people accompany the procession with bells, flutes, drums, etc.

Gion Sai
祇園祭
Nanao east district 七尾市街東地区
This festival features 20 kiriko lanterns from various districts, which all come together at a shrine at 11pm for an exciting finale (10 min. from Nanao).

Koiji Fire Festival
恋路火祭り
Koiji Beach, Suzu 珠洲市恋路海岸
A festival to console the souls of lovers who could not be together in this life. Features torches and lanterns. Other events as well.

Hakusan Matsuri
白山まつり
Shiramine-mura 白峰村
Featuring Shiramine's traditional "Kanko" dancing and folk songs, this festival celebrates the village's rich cultural heritage.

The 33nd Hasabe Matsuri
第33回長谷部まつり
Anamizu Harbor 穴水港
In remembrance of Hasabe Shinren, the lord of Anamizu Castle. Folkdancing, a parade with homemade mikoshi, floating lanterns and bonfires.

Nanao Port Festival
七尾港まつり
Nanao Port (Fisherman's Wharf) 七尾港周辺
There will be a marine parade of fishing boats near the harbor, a 2,600 person "Minato-Yoisa" dance procession, fireworks, sumo, and many other events.

Toro Yama Matsuri
灯篭山まつり
Iida-machi, Suzu-shi 珠洲市飯田町 A summer fesitval in gratitude to the gods for cool evenings. Drums, flutes, bells, and huge floats make a lively festival. Also known as OSuzumi Matsuri.

Horimatsu Amihiki Sai
堀松網引き祭
Horimatsu, Shika-machi 志賀町字堀松
n Held at Sumiyoshi Shrine on the evening of the 23rd, this festival features hauling a giant net in supplication for abundant catches.

Shiotsu Festival
塩津かがり火恋まつり
Shiotsu,Nakajima-machi 中島町字塩津
A festival to celebrate the yearly "date" on the water of a god and a goddess. Floating lanterns, mikoshi, and flaming lotus leaves.

Goda Fire Festival
向田の火祭り
Goda, Notojima-machi 能登島町向田
An exciting festival featuring a huge 30 meter tall torch. Also drums, dancing, etc.

Nabune Festival
名船大祭
Nabune-machi, Wajima 輪島市名船町
Involves going out to a shrine on the sea to welcome the god on the 31st. Also features a performance by the well-known Gojinjo Daiko on the beach.
