JAPANESE COOKING CLASS
日本語料理教室

For those of you who cannot make it to the International Lounge's class during the day, the Kanazawa International Exchange Foundation (KIEF) is offering a six-lesson series of evening classes starting in April. The classes will be taught by Japanese women living in the area and will consist of simple home cooking.

Financial Assistance for Students in Vietnam
ベトナムの学生に奨学金支給

 Starting this year, the Hokuriku Vietnam Friendship Society has decided to send scholarship money to secondary and universtiy students in Vietnam who cannot afford school fees and expenses. In addition, the organization has plans to subsidize part of lodging and transportation costs for Vietnamese language students who are newly-settled in the Hokuriku area. To raise the necessary funds, the group is looking for 'foster parents' to support the scholarship project.

　北陸ベトナム友好協会は、今年度からベトナム国内で学費が払えない自動生徒や大学生に奨学金を送る方針を決めた。また北陸3県に留学する語学研修生に対しても、生活が軌道に乗るまでの宿泊費、交通費の1部などの支援金を支給する計画である。これに伴い、県内で奨学金制度を支える里親の募集も行なう。詳しくは以下にお問い合わせください。

Tateyama Alpine Route Cablecar Reopens
立山アルペンルート・ケーブルカー運転を再開

The cable car from the Tateyama Station in Kurobe to the Bijohira Station which follows the Tateyama-Kurobe Alpine Road opened for the season on April 10th. The Bijohira area, which is the final stop for the cable cars, still has 1 m of snow on the ground. The full length of the Tateyama-Kurobe Alpine Road is opened by April 25th. For Golden Week (from late April to early May), travellers can enjoy the sceneries of Tateyama still covered with snow.

For conservation reasons, the Tateyama-Kurobe area prohibits private motor vehicles.

　立山黒部アルペンルートの入口立山駅と美女平駅を結ぶ立山ケーブルカーが4月10日運転を再開した。終着の美女平周辺はまだ1m余りの雪がある。立山黒部アルペンルートでは除雪が進められており、4月25日までに全線が開通する。4月末から5月始めのゴールデンウィークには雪が残る立山が楽しめる。 　立山黒部周辺では自然保護のため自家用車の乗り入れを禁止している。
