Study Materials Science in English
It is JAIST’s policy to have the entire Ph.D. courses taught in English by our professors. It is also possible to obtain a Master’s degree just by taking courses taught in English. JAIST strongly encourages both Master’s and Ph.D. students to prepare their thesis or dissertation in English and perform the defense in English, too.

Various financial support systems are available including a new funding program for Ph.D. candidates (TBA). We also seek applicants who wish to enroll JAIST as MEXT scholarship students for the special program called “Data Science based Global Energy, Environment-Health Innovation Program.” This program has been selected as one of the “International Priority Graduate Programs” by MEXT.
