Introduction
The integration of data science techniques with accounting and finance has led to transformative
advancements in decision-making, risk management, and financial analysis. This interdisciplinary synergy
offers new perspectives and tools for professionals and researchers in both fields. In light of this, we
invite contributions for a book titled "Data Science for Accounting and Finance: Methods and
Applications" that aims at exploring the intersection of data science methodologies and applications
within the realms of accounting and finance.
Objective
This book aims to provide a comprehensive analysis and overview of how data science techniques, including
but not limited to machine learning, data mining, artificial intelligence, big data analytics, and
visualization, can be effectively utilized and applied in accounting and finance domains. It seeks to
bridge the gap between theory and practice, offering insights into real-world applications, challenges,
and future directions in this emerging field.
Topics of Interest
We invite submissions on a wide range of topics related to data science in accounting and finance,
including but not limited to:
- Predictive modeling for financial forecasting
- Fraud detection and risk management using data analytics
- Text mining and sentiment analysis in financial markets
- Portfolio optimization and asset allocation strategies
- Machine learning applications in accounting, auditing and compliance
- Quantitative models of information disclosure for Corporate social responsibility (CSR);
environment, social and governance (ESG); Sustainability reporting (SR)
- Data analysis for contemporary issues in accounting and auditing (earnings management, behavioral accounting, IFRS, etc.)
- Financial sentiment analysis using social media data
- Algorithmic trading and quantitative finance
- Big data analytics for financial decision-making
- Visualization techniques for financial data analysis
Abstract and Submission Guidelines
- Please send an abstract (300-500 words) outlining the scope, objectives, methodology, and key
findings
of your chapter to HUYNH Van Nam at huynh@jaist.ac.jp by May 15,
2024.

This book is planned to be published in Springer's series “Studies in Big Data”. Please follow the following instructions carefully.
- Authors should prepare their papers in the Springer's Manuscript Preparation (please use Word / LaTeX templates for contributed books);
- Chapters should not exceed 20 pages in this format;
- Submission: Information on how to submit your full chapter will be available here in due course.
