今は何をしていますか?/What do I work as?/现在在哪工作?

Currently I am a postdoctoral researcher in Graduate School of Information Science and Technology, the University of Tokyo.

研究生になろうとしたきっかけは何ですか?/Why did I decide to be a research student?/申请研究生的契机是什么?

First of all, it is not easy to participate the enrollment examination for foreign students outside Japan with visa issues. The most feasible alternative is thought to be applying the research student first and pass the exam thereafter. Secondly, it was fortunate that JAIST accepted my application of research student, and thirdly, the buffer period as research student can accommodate the laboratory research and Japanese culture well.

研究生の時に苦労したことは何かありますか?/The difficulties while I was a research student./读研究生的时候有哪些不方便的地方?

The only inconvenience as research student is the mere opportunity to obtain any scholarship, but fortunately, the tuition fee was not much expensive.

5D進学はいつごろから意識しましたか?/When did I consider to enter the 5D program ?

Before my graduate study, I found out that my research field is so excited and promising, so I decided to apply for JAIST 5D program, i.e., Master-PhD combined program.

The life-style in JAIST is enjoy enjoyable and dedicated. Among the five and half years in JAIST, I had traveled to various cities around Japan and worldwide, and spent almost one year stayed in Australia and USA for internships. Obviously, the life was also full of frustrations and accomplishments. The most frustrated experience is to seek a novel and proper research topic. I had to modify my research proposal dozens of times in the first graduation year under the considerations of the research society and my research background and interests. On the other side, the best accomplishment is the application of the research fellow of Japan Society for the Promotion of Science, which I applied three times in each year. At the third time, I was in the depths of despair due to the bad experiences of previous application. Thanks to my supervisor and laboratory members, I built up confidence with a happy ending.

JAISTでの生活を振り返ってみての感想/Looking back the research life in JAIST/回首在JAIST的生活有何感想?

Looking back the research life in JAIST, I believe that hard work is commendable but persistence is more commendable. JAIST has incomparable research facilities and world-leading researchers, and how to exploit them effectively is upon to your decisions.
