Lecture on how to write an article to be accepted

We will hold a lecture for the person who is going to submit an article to academic journals. We invite a lecturer from Elsevier (a major academic publisher). The lecturer will talk about the points you should seize when writing an article. We hope you can attend this time if you are interested in this theme.

Borrowing Books from the Public Libraries in Ishikawa

Please be informed that Ishikawa Prefectural Library will be closed for its system update scheduled as below.
You can request to borrow books from public libraries even when it is closed, however, please note that it might cause delays in delivery.
Besides, you will not be able to use "Cross-search in Ishikawa Libraries" during the same period of time. Please confirm if there is the book you want to borrow in public libraries in Ishikawa at the website of "Calil-Local (Ishikawa)" before you request.

Restriction on Use of JAIST Library due to the Lighting Device Replacement Work

Please be informed that we will conduct the lighting device replacement work in the old wing of library as below. There will be some closed areas according to the work schedule although the library will stay open. Please note that you may experience noise and vibration during the work.

** Closed areas and the schedule **

  • 3F/Old wing: December 16th (Mon.)-20th (Fri.), 2019
  • 2F/Old wing: December 24th (Tue.)-28th (Sat.), 2019
  • 1F/Browsing corner: January 7th (Tue.)-10th (Fri.), 2020
  • New wing and the elevator are available all the time.
  • You may not use rest room and photocopying corner only during the replacement work on the sites.
  • Please come to the information counter when you need materials in the closed areas.

Hands-on Workshop for SciFinder

We will hold the hands-on workshop for SciFinder as follows. A professional instructor will explain how to use SciFinder by offering practical training. This is open to any members of JAIST, so please join us if you are interested in SciFinder. (* This workshop will be conducted in Japanese.)

[What is SciFinder?]:
SciFinder is an excellent information retrieval tool which allows you to search the wide variety of data such as articles in journals, proceedings, chemical substances and reactions around the world from multiple angles with keywords, substance names, structural formulas, etc.
The main content is information of the field of Chemistry, Medicine, Biochemistry and Agronomy, but it extensively includes the general information of science and technology, it is also useful for people who major in Biology, Physics, and Engineering fields.

The binding of all materials is scheduled to be completed at the end of July and we will relocate them in the shelves in order soon after the registration has been completed.
