Please note that the library (inside the entrance gate) will be closed on the following schedule, due to a scheduled blackout on May 11, 2024. Thank you for your patience and we apologize for any inconvenience.

Closed from 5:00pm on May 10(Fri.) to 8:30am on May 13(Mon.).
* Browsing Area (1F) will be open as usual.

IEEE Authorship Webinar

The following library services will be suspended due to server maintenance of the library system.


Period of Suspension : March 5, 2024 (Tue.) 9:00-12:00 (scheduled)
Services to be suspended :
  • Self-checkout machine
    Staff will be available to borrow books manually during the suspension. Please ask us at the information counter.
  • JAIST OPAC
  • User Service

    All services including status check, renewing loan period and various applications

Restoration work completed for Journals Areas

Journals Areas on the 1st through 3rd floors of the New Wing, which was closed due to restoration work, is now available.

*Some shelves have not been reorganized yet, so please contact library staff if you don’t find the materials you need.

Reopening of the Library and Resumption of Services

Please be informed that the library will reopen at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 16, with the following exceptions, after the temporary closure since January 3 due to the damage caused by the earthquake.
Thank you very much for your patience with the inconvenience of the closure.

Note : 
  • We are still working to restore the library, so please use caution when walking near the restricted area.
  • Some shelves have not been reorganized completely. If you don’t find the materials you need, please ask a staff member for help.

[IMPORTANT] Temporary closure of the library (Jan. 3-5until for the time being)

We would like to express our deepest sympathies to all those affected by the Noto Earthquake that occurred on January 1, 2024.

The library will be temporarily closed from January 3 to January 5until for the time being due to the falling of materials caused by the earthquake. You can not enter the library or use materials. We can not accept applications for one-day use and the library user’s card.
Thank you for your patience and we apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

*We will announce the library reopens on the library website and official X (formerly Twitter).

*All due dates during the closure will be extended until the library reopens.
