Trento
Trento is a small town at the foot of Dolomite Mountains. I stayed there to attend a summer school of formal semantics. I like its rustic atmosphere.

Bergamo
Bergamo is a special town in that it is venetian despite the fact that it is in the Milanese region. It is convenient to go from Milan for excursion so as to inhale the venetian winds.

Favourites
Northern cities in Italy accommodate many nice places to eat. Parma is outstanding in that you will never be disappointed when you buy some sweets on the street. My favourite, 
Ristorante Greppia, is in Parma and I wish I have my last supper on earth in the restaurant.
