By Airplane

Tokyo-Komatsu takes 1 hour by plane.
Komatsu Airport-JAIST takes 35 minutes by the JAIST Shuttle (Komatsu Airport Line).

By Train

Tokyo-Kanazawa 4 hours by Shinkansen and limited express.
Osaka-Komatsu by limited express takes 2 hours 30 minutes.
Nagoya- Komatsu takes 3 hours by limited express.
Kanazawa-JAIST takes 1 hour by local trains and the JAIST Shuttle (Tsurugi Line).
Komatsu-JAIST takes 30 minutes by the JAIST Shuttle (JR Komatsu Station Line).

From JR Kanazawa Station

Take the local train from JR Kanazawa Station and get off at the next stop, JR Nishi-Kanazawa Station (the special express does not stop here). Walk to the left from that station to Hokuriku Railroad, Ishikawa Line Shin-Nishi-Kanazawa Station. Take the Ishikawa Line to Tsurugi Station. The JAIST shuttle will take you to the university.

From central Kanazawa (by train)

From the Hokuriku Railroad, Ishikawa Line Nomachi Station (about a 15-minute walk from Korinbo along Route 157 heading toward Arimatsu; turn right at the Nomachi 3-chome intersection, down a gradual slope), take the Ishikawa Line to Tsurugi Station (the fare from Nomachi to Tsurugi is 460 yen). Then take the JAIST shuttle to the university (see above).

Regarding the JAIST Shuttle: JAIST ⇔ Komatsu Airport (Komatsu Airport Line) and JAIST ⇔ JR Komatsu Station (JR Komatsu Station Line)

We operate the JAIST Shuttle Service free of charge based on reservations to provide transportation in order to connect JAIST and Komatsu Airport/JR Komatsu Station.

As for using the JAIST Shuttle Service, it is described as below.

The trip from Komatsu Airport to JAIST takes 35 minutes by the JAIST Shuttle.
The trip from JR Komatsu Station to JAIST takes 30 minutes by the JAIST Shuttle.
The trip from Komatsu Airport to JAIST takes 35 minutes by taxi at a cost of ¥ 8,000.
The trip from JR Komatsu Station to JAIST takes 30 minutes by taxi at a cost of ¥ 6,000. (The time and cost are approximate estimates.)
