Laboratory Operation

We would like to keep close contact/connections to the European academia that we created in the last 5 years. One of the goals of the administrative activities in 2007 is to tie a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with CWC at University of Oulu, Finland, with the aim of facilitating research cooperation and student exchange. With the MoU, it is made possible to send students from JAIST to CWC, and to have the dispatched students participate in various European projects. An ultimate goal under the framework of research cooperation with CWC is to bring the MoU up to the university level, of which aim is to tie credit compatibility agreement between JAIST and University of Oulu.

Now, given the strong tendency towards global competition in every corner of our modernized society, we have to recognize that graduates of Japanese universities will have to survive such harsh competitiveness in the world. A conceptual basis of JAIST is to provide students with high quality education and supervision for competitive research work. Our laboratory will introduce Western operational discipline not only in daily research work but also in conversations, discussions, and working customs. Non native Japanese speakers are welcome!
