Slepian WOlf Cooperation WIreless RElay network: SWOCWIRE


Vision

      The major goal of the SWOCWIRE project is to create technological bases of cooperative wireless networks using Slepian-Wolf compression techniques. The work packages include algorithm developments for cooperative communications, including relay wireless relay systems, and evaluations of efficiency, reliability, convergence properties of the proposed techniques, theoretical analysis, and establishment of optimal design methods. The expected outcomes of the SWOCWIRE project are general understanding of cooperative relay techniques using Slepian-Wolf compression and development of practical detection/decoding algorithms using the turbo technique, and practical applications of the techniques obtained by using the optimal design methods derived in this project. Some of the problems to be challenged by this project have breakthrough-making impacts on wireless cooperation communications systems and networks.
