CALL-FOR-PROJECT WORKERS 2013

Call-for-Project Workers 2013

+ Salary and working hours are by negotiation. The applicants should not necessarily be a JAIST student.
+ Send application to : Prof. Tad Matsumoto and Asst. Prof. Khoirul Anwar.
+ Deadline: June 28, 2013.

We have the following five projects:

  • (1). D2D Communications using Interleave Division Multiple Access, funded by a big mobile communication company.
The project work includes algorithm design and mathematical convergence property analyses for the technique.

  • (2). Geo-location Techniques for Illegal Radio Emission Location Identification, funded by a private radar company in Japan.
The project work includes algorithm design and mathematical proof of the presence of global/local optima of the convergence point of the algorithm. This is a multiple-year project but the duration in year-basis has not yet been fixed.

  • (3). Lossy Distributed Joint Source-Channel Coding for Correlated Sources, funded by a private monitoring and communication company.
The project work includes algorithm design, performance evaluation through simulations, and mathematical proof of the presence of global/local optima of the convergence point of the algorithm. This is a multiple-year project but the duration in year-basis has not yet been fixed.

  • (4). STAR-CODE: STAR-struCtured relaying for glObal wireless data Exchange.
This project is funded by JSPS for 2013-2016 to create efficient communication concepts/technologies for multiterminal nodes based on the recent advances in network information theory and coding theory, where the multiterminal network expresses a structure of coding schemes. Star-structured network topologies with a central relay are the platform for this project.

  • (5). Physical Layer Assisted Information Secrecy Enhancement Techniques.
For this project, we are currently under negotiation with a mobile communication company towards launching a project on.
This project is supposed to be multiple-year contract-based, to be funded by a mobile communication in Japan, and the work includes algorithm design for secrecy-capacity achieving joint channel and encryption coding in noisy channel, and the robustness analysis of the techniques.

  • Descriptions:
  • - JASSO may provide the potential candidates with seed money, which will be a significant help for the applicants towards the success ofthe project work. However, it depends on the applicants' qualification.
  • - The salary amount depends on the working hours, but is subject to the university researcher employment regulation.
  • - Selection of the project workers is only depending on performance, capability, and knowledge basis of the applicants. Our laboratory strictly follows the Affirmative Action: No discriminatory issues imposed on the screening.
  • - The applicants can be either Master or Doctor course students, but should not necessarily be JAIST students. However, aplications from the organizations having academic exchange agreement with JAIST is highly encouraged.
  • - If there is no suitable persons in the applicants, nobody will be nominated, and another round of call-for-applicants will be announced.
