Participates in UKM Career Fair (Malaysia)
Prof. SHIRAI Kiyoaki, Human Information Science Area and Prof. NAGAO Yuki, Materials Chemistry Frontiers Area participated in the "UKM Career Fair" held at the Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) on May 20 (Tue.) and 21 (Wed.), 2025, where they hosted an exhibition booth.
This large-scale career fair aimed to facilitate "job matching" between local Malaysian students and companies, and featured a variety of related events including pitch contests and career development lectures.
JAIST was the only university participating as an exhibitor. JAIST mainly promoted the "JUMP Program (JAIST partner University Master connection Program)", which is one of JAIST's strategic international programs. The JUMP Program offers outstanding students from partner institutions abroad the opportunity to pursue advanced education and research at a Japanese graduate school, bridging the gap between undergraduate and graduate education. It also serves to deepen educational and research collaborations with partner universities.
Over the course of the two-day event, approximately 120 students visited the JAIST booth, with about half majoring in materials science. Many students from the information science field also stopped by, expressing strong interest in JAIST and the JUMP program. They asked specific questions about research opportunities, the admissions process, scholarships, and life in Japan.
We would like to express our sincere gratitude on the UKM faculty members for their generous support in preparing for and operating the exhibit.
JAIST remains committed to enhancing its global research and education environment by further strengthening international collaboration through initiatives like the JUMP program, and by welcoming talented students from around the world.
