The 1st Japanese Cultural Experience of 2025: Japanese sweets making experience and walk in Kanazawa
The 1st Japanese Cultural Experience in this year was taken place on July 10 2025.
9 International students and 1 Japanese student visited Ishikawa Local Products Center, Kanazawa, for Japanese sweets making experience.
While listening to the explanation from a Japanese confectionery craftsman, they made summer seasonal fresh confectionery, "Ajisai", "Water balloon" and "Temaribana".
This was their first experience making Japanese sweets. Although they seemed to struggle a little at first, they worked carefully while watching a monitor showing a craftsman's hand at work.
When the lovely sweets were successfully made, participants took pictures of each other and rejoiced at the completion.
After that, the participants were free to explore at surrounding sightseeing area, taking meals, shopping for souvenirs and thoroughly enjoyed the cultural experience.
The cultural experience was attended by students from India, Thailand, Sri Lanka, and other countries, some of whom met each other for the first time. The experience and walks provided a good opportunity to deepen understanding of Japanese food culture and to deepen friendship among the participants.
