Free parking lot

The following people such as visitors, library users can use the free parking lot through prescribed procedures.

People allowed to use

  1. Visitors who visit for education, research, or administration on JAIST
  2. Public users of JAIST Library (With Library Cards)
  3. People who operate the delivery and rendering of services
  4. Mail carriers or forwarding agents for baggage collection and delivery
  5. People with physical disability including temporary condition (They are allowed to park on the free parking lot etc. even for commuting instead of the toll parking.)
  6. Specially permitted people

People not allowed to use (Prohibition of use)

  1. Students, faculty and staff members of JAIST
    Apply for use of the toll parking lot for students, faculty and staff members★
  2. People permitted to use the toll parking lot

When it is necessary to enter or park on the restricted area

When it is necessary to enter or park on the restricted area, the user of the car must apply for the procedures below.

After parking in the free or the toll parking lot, or in advance, please come to the window in Facility Management Department.

Parking on the restricted area may interfere with the delivery, rendering of services, emergency response, etc.
Please be sure to consult Facility Management Department before entering the campus, and receive instructions of the parking place.

How to use the free parking lot

1. Procedures of usage
Please come to the window in Facility Management Department and write the requirements such as belonging, full name, vehicle number, phone number, etc. in the record book.
The appropriate parking permit for the purpose, period, etc. will be published.

Library users need valid Library cards.
Please apply for publication or update at JAIST library in advance.

*Only for Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays, the disaster prevention center receive application for the permission of the vehicle to operate the delivery, rendering of services, etc.

2. How to park
Please park on the free parking lot and put he parking permit on places where anyone can find and confirm from the outside of the vehicle like the dashboard.

If permitted after parking, please come back to put the parking permit immediately.

The parking permit is valid only when it is used in person within the expiration date.
The expired permit can be discarded.

It is prohibited to loan or to transfer the parking permit to another person.

Cautions when permitted entry or parking

  • Do not park except the place permitted in advance.
  • Do not block up the passage on the parking lots or the campus by parking because it disturb passing of heavy vehicles for carry-in or snow removal, etc.
  • Obey road signs, etc.
  • Do not drive in the wrong direction. Especially in the vicinity of the entrance of the municipal JAIST parking lot first lot, it is dangerous because the buses goes in and out.
  • Drive slowly on the campus for safety of pedestrians.
  • Be careful about traffic of children because of neighboring family dormitories.
  • Prevent noise pollution.
  • JAIST do not take any responsibility for damages due to theft, accidents, etc. on the campus.
