1. Graduate Research Program
Graduate Research Program(GRP) recruits superior and motivated students who are aiming to obtain a doctoral degree through the research activities which each School focuses on the most. The program offers our cutting-edge education and cultivates performance ability of young researchers by participating research activities as a research assistant, which stimulates any research activities at Japan Advanced Institute of Science and Technology.

2. Support and Facility
Monthly stipend
Under GRP, each student will receive the salary as a research assistant after entering JAIST. The amount is calculated as 25 hours per week and 1,500 yen (Japanese Yen) per hour. This means about 150,000 yen per month (or, equivalently about 1,800,000 yen per year).

Student housing
JAIST offers on-campus student housing at very reasonable price. Students entering into a doctoral program are given priority for housing arrangements.

5. Eligibility Requirement
Applicants must meet all of the following requirements:
1. Those who wish to study under Doctoral program.

2. Those who have received a Master's Degree or a Professional Degree or will receive by the end of previous month of intended admission day.

6. Application Procedure
1. Contact with your intended supervisors in the JAIST faculty members.
All applicants of the GRP must first contact with intended supervisors in the JAIST faculty members. Application without the contact with your intended supervisor will not be considered.

2. Interview by JAIST's Professors
You will be asked about your research contents in detail and your school life by JAISTfs professors. The interview date and location will be announced after discussing with JAISTfs professors. Only the applicants who receive approval from JAIST are allowed to apply for admission.

3. Apply to Graduate Research Program
Send application documents to Admissions Section before the deadline mentioned below.
