On Wednesday, July 15th, the first Japanese Cultural Experience of the year was held with 25 international students. They visited “Fukui Prefectural Dinosaur Museum" and “Echizen Great Buddha” in Katsuyama, Fukui.
The participants first visited the Fukui Prefectural Dinosaur Museum, one of the world's three major dinosaur museums. Overwhelmed by the massive specimens and skeletal displays, they learned about ancient history. Next, they visited Echizen Great Buddha. They strolled around the temple grounds while enjoying the impressive Great Buddha Hall and the temple's solemn atmosphere.
Students from 10 countries—Nigeria, Vietnam, Bangladesh, China, Indonesia, Zimbabwe, India, Thailand, Taiwan and Japan—participated in the event, and some were meeting each other for the first time. The tour provided a good chance for everyone to get closer, and it was also a meaningful opportunity to deepen their understanding of Japanese culture.
