Admission Methods
JAIST regards oral examination of applicants' master's thesis, research outline and interview about them. For those who apply for Interactive Admission over the Internet (IAI), questions and answers are conducted on the Internet instead of interviews. Admission Systems
(1) Usual Admission
General Admission system is for those who have master's degree or expected to have master's degree.

(2) Embedded Systems Course
This Admission system is for people who have an occupation and wish to apply for School of Information Science. This course focuses on embedded systems and their relevant technologies.

(3) Advanced Information Technologies Course
This Admission system is for people who have an occupation and wish to apply for School of Information Science. The objective of this course is to integrate advanced technologies into fundamental information science.

(4) Advanced Software Engineering Course
This Admission system is for people who have an occupation and wish to apply for School of Information Science. The objective of this course is to produce human resources who have ability in providing new technologies and developing theories in the software development field. This course is conducted in collaboration with National Institute of Informatics(NII).

(5) Advanced Knowledge Science Course
This Admission system is for people who have an occupation and wish to apply for School of Knowledge Science. This course provides education based on advanced expertise and technology throughout Knowledge Science, and also aims to produce specialists or "Knowledge Scientist", scientists with research prowess in the field of Knowledge Science.

(6) 3D Programs with Scholarship
In the selection process for the 3D programs with scholarship, we recruits those who will pursue a doctorate and be able to play a major role in graduate school.
Those who enter JAIST through this selection process are entitled to scholarship benefits.

(7) Graduate Research Program
Graduate Research Program recruits superior and motivated students who are aiming to obtain a doctoral degree through the research activities which each School focuses on the most. The program offers our cutting-edge education and cultivates performance ability of young researchers by participating research activities as a research assistant, which stimulates any research activities at Japan Advanced Institute of Science and Technology.
