Email Sending and Delivery Issues During the Power Outage (2026/5/15 17:30-5/18 19:00)

Trouble

[5/22 19:00 Update]

  • Delivery from the affected mail server has been resumed

Regarding the mail delivery issue previously announced for emails sent to JAIST email addresses and emails sent from JAIST at around 17:30–18:00 on May 15, 2026,
as a result of recovery work, we have determined that delivery can be resumed for some of the emails whose delivery processing had not been completed during the affected time period.

We are currently preparing to sequentially resume delivery processing for undelivered emails that remain on the mail server.
After delivery is resumed, the affected emails are expected to be delivered in sequence.
However, depending on the processing status and the condition of the destination mail servers,
it may take some time for delivery to be completed.

Please note that we are not in a position to guarantee delivery of all emails.
Therefore, for important emails, we ask that you continue to confirm with the sender or recipient as appropriate.
We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience caused to all users.

Additionally, emails sent to and from JAIST email addresses between 17:30 and 18:00 on May 15, 2026 may not have been processed correctly due to a mail server issue.

We are currently working on recovery; however, at this time, an estimated time for full restoration has not been determined. As a result, emails sent or received during the time period mentioned above may not have been successfully delivered.

If you expect to have sent or received any important emails during this period, we kindly ask that you confirm with the sender or recipient as appropriate.
