Dear JAIST users,
Research Center for Advanced
Computing Infrastructure(RCACI)
[Notice] Start of eduroam JP Federated ID Service
eduroam is a service that allows universities and other education
and research institutions to use each other's wireless LANs. 414
institutions in Japan and universities in 106 countries are
participating in eduroam (as of Dec 2023).
When JAIST members use eduroam services at off-campus educational
institutions, they previously connected using client certificates
issued by the J-UPKI system, but now they can also connect using
accounts issued by the "eduroam JP Federated ID Service".
If you are unable to connect to eduroam using a client certificate,
please try connecting using an "eduroam-ID for yourself/students".
In addition, faculty and staff can issue "eduroam-ID for visitors"
to allow visitors to use wireless LANs at JAIST without prior
application to RCACI. Please use this service for events such as
conferences, research meetings and workshops held at JAIST.
