We had a short holiday, starting from 3rd May and ending on 6th, say, today. Just four days, but we could go to two concerts and sort out our home. I cut trees turned down by strong winds last month. I cleaned rooms 🙂 To conclude the day, I cycled to a confectionary nearby to buy some sweets. The temperature was just perfect.

Ivo Pogorelic plays Rachmaninoff
Our second day of La Folle Journee de Kanazawa and we listened to Ivo Pogorelic playing Chopin, Rachmaninoff, and Balakirev. Most striking was him rehearsing in front of audiences. I recognized him playing Rachmaninoff’s second sonata in quiet tone. I understood he belonged to a different world from ours. His performance was also unique. It was exceptionally tensed performance. It was an experience, really.
Sayaka Shoji plays Shostakovich’s first violin sonata
We took part in La Folle Journee de Kanazawa and listened to Sayaka Syoji playing Shostakovich’s first violin sonata. My god! She is such a brilliant violinist. No wonder she won the Premio Paganini as young as eighteen years old. She took all of us to another universe using her violin. I was greatly moved by her performance.
