——-

I have not played Schubert for a long time. I knew that those pieces
sound well on my Petrof piano, a viennese origin, but those were too
sweet for me to go into. The same applied to pieces by Beethoven. I
seem to, however, be recovering from a sort of depression. I could
play them comfortably. I also listend to John Coltrane, a Jazz Giant,
today. I could not remember when was the last time I listened to
Jazz. My Favarite Things sounded fine to my ears.

My lecture of ethics, given this morning, was not so bad, I
believe. No one was asleep, to give you some insight 🙂 I felt sorry
when I saw the video clips capturing a guy who was swept away by
tsunami as the result of his good behaviour to evacuate a person on
wheelchair to safe place. I raised a question: why does the good man
have to die? Discussing the issue with the participants, I noticed
that the principle, ‘Do not care for others while you are fleeing away
from tsunami’, is an item of explicit knowledge. You need a courage to
observe the principle, though. What weakens you is your tacit
knowledge or an instinctive compassion to others. What is an irony!

The wether was unstable through the day. Around the noon, it was fine. I thus thought it would be nice if I had a lunch on top of the hill behind the institute and drove there. It was however farther than I expected; it took almost half an hour to reach there. (I was lost once on my way.) It was fine when I reached there. I overlooked the institute and the sea, but it started to rain soon. I drove down to chair a seminar with students, having finished eating my lunch.

I noticed of a rainbow while I was preparing for the seminar. I notified my students of the rainbow. We all went out  to the balcony to see it. We counted the number of colors it contains. I only recognized six, missing indigo.

It rained and was sometimes sunny. A bit cold, but it was a pleasant night.
I feel better having solved a problem due to my stupidity.
I have been collecting my energy again to focus on some important problems.
I wrote a lecture note for five pages in English. I enjoyed writing to my surprise.
