back home

I suppose I was quite tired having attended the conference for almost a week. I went back home. I dropped in Kyoto on my way back home to buy some souvenirs for friends who live abroad. Yeah, I am going oversea next week, to the Netherlands and England. Kyoto is nice place to buy souvenirs for such people. I am sorry for Yamaguchi in this respect.

I like the view from train passing along the lake. It got green. The summer is reaching its peak soon.

a banquet

There was a banquet on the third day. The venue was a beautiful garden with a historic tower. The party started with a performance of Kyogen. So beautiful. We visited a tea house to take a cup of tea. An old house was open for viewing. I liked its tranquilness.

a session concerning dementia

I attended a session concerning dementia. The session has survived for five years and was now celebrating its graduation. I have been involved in it from the beginning and felt a bit moved to have seen it all over. I do not know where we shall go, but the session has done some good. We have of course discussed next steps.

For the dinner, we exploited the area searching for local foods. We encountered a traditional meat, whose exact name I had better avoid to mention not to get on nerve of a graceful body.

The final meeting

it is traditional, but not particularly appealing to me

a talk

I gave a talk at our session concerning embodied knowledge. I was glad to see some of the talks given for the session share the same interest, or point of view, into the nature of our skillful movements. (The photo is provided by Mr. Tsujino. Thank you!)

I talked about two meanings of the centre

jsai2012 (Annual-Conference-of-The-Japanese-Society-for-Artificial-Intelligence)

I have been to Yamaguchi this week to take part in JSAI2012, Annual Conference of The Japanese Society for Artificial-Intelligence. It was very far from home, say, it took almost seven hours to get to the hotel. I had no idea where the city was before I had been there. It was a small town with few cultural interests. I wanted to go back home the next day, but have gradually attuned myself to the environment. Its look and feel are after all very familiar with me, just a bit rustic than our prefecture. Yamaguchi Center for Arts and Media was interesting.

The place is flat, surrounded by hills

Its edges are formed with forests
